This was an attempt to generate foamed (and thus lightweight) concrete using ‘Great Stuff’ - a compressed foaming agent - mixed in with standard cement mix. The resulting compound material, sadly, wasn’t ‘great stuff’.

OBJECT: Motor/Pump device of some sort to assist ordinary humans to achieve mechanical task.

ORIGIN: Planet Earth, MIT Department of Civil Engineering, Materials Testing Lab.

CONDITION: standard corrosion, peeling paint, highly used. Out of service.

COMPOSITION: metal casing, with wire and magnetic interior.

CONSUMERIST VALUE: none, typically unappealing to mass consumer markets.

APPEARANCE: Machine aesthetic, highly valued by MECHE types.

ANTHROPOLOGICAL SIGNIFICANCE: empty signifier for any projected meaning.

USE FOR KRYPTON: For display in the Museum of Weird and Wonderful Earthly Artifacts.
